What Light Remains

Seen from the lower meadow, East Riddlesden Hall appears through the undergrowth beneath a moonlit sky. Familiar forms are reduced to shadow, cool light and fragments of detail as the surrounding landscape withdraws into darkness. Moonlight catches the stone, while a single lit window and a faint plume of smoke suggest life within the stillness. The place feels familiar yet less certain, held between what the moonlight reveals and what has disappeared into the night.
