The Last of the Day

A place with a long history, seen in a single moment on an autumn evening. Coming up the hill from the lower meadow as daylight fades, East Riddlesden Hall appears through the undergrowth, as though discovered. The last warmth of the day recedes and, for a moment, the scene is almost still. The Hall hovers at the edge of the fading light, where the familiar begins to feel less certain. A place shaped by centuries of change, suspended briefly between the last of the day and the approaching darkness.
